Psychodynamic/Psychoanalytic, Trauma Focused, Transpersonal/Spiritual, Somatic
Sara Ouimette is a licensed psychotherapist specializing in women’s issues, trauma, psychedelic integration, spirituality, and cannabis use (including cannabis-assisted psychotherapy for some individuals). She received her M.A. in Integral Counseling Psychology from CIIS and went on to pursue intensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at The Psychotherapy Institute in Berkeley, CA. Sara is a member of The Society of Cannabis Clinicians and has been researching the spiritual and psychological properties of cannabis for many years. She is also an adherence rater for the Phase 3 studies on MDMA for P.T.S.D. at M.A.P.S. and continually studies different integration practices for different experiences.
Sara’s therapeutic frameworks are best described as relational, psychodynamic/psychoanalytic, transpersonal/spiritual, and somatic. To use less jargon, this means that you will spend time exploring your early memories and experiences, looking closely at how they shape your current reality. Finding compassion for yourself often begins with acknowledging where your wounds came from. By gaining insight into yourself and what causes you the most suffering, you can come to trust and follow your own inner healer. Sara will be very interested in what comes up when you’re with her; she works intuitively and will respond to you with presence, interest, and empathic attunement.
