Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Rogerian, Psychosynthesis, Acceptance and Committment therapy (ACT), Dharma Therapy, Family Systems
My practice as a therapist is changing/evolving. The therapy changes as I learn and grow, almost daily, using whatever works, CBT/DBT/mindfulness/ACT blend. Work is done in the present moment and is little dependent on our past. I usually work quickly and directly. And sometimes we need to go slow. A typical successful series might be 6 or 8 meetings.
My speciality is couples, marriage or partnerships. I love to talk with those on a journey of self-discovery...recent disabilities, terminal illness, the "midlife crisis". But, the best field for self-discovery is marriage or partnership. These are all on the journey of self-discovery...important work.
I was trained at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, CA. I have practiced Vipassana meditation for 30+ years and I'm a community Buddhist dharma leader, offering Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation classes and weekly meditation groups.
